Construction of the Health Centre, where the nurse and other health practitioners provide services to the community members of Lasqueti, including a respite area. Nearly one million dollars of labour and materials has been put into building the Judith Fisher Centre.
The vast majority of the labour that went into the building of the Judith Fisher Center has been donated by Lasqueti Islanders of all ages. We could not have completed this monumentous, off the grid task, without them. Volunteers came out in all kinds of weather and worked together in harmony. Each and every one of them is a hero in our midst.
The Service Building:
The construction of the Service Building. This houses all the equipment needed to power the Judith Fisher Centre including solar panels on the roof, an extensive bank of batteries and much more.
